Wholebake, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of healthy snack bars, has appointed Marcus Hudson as Head of Sales and Brands, as the business prepares to significantly scale its branded portfolio and accelerate international expansion.
Marcus joined Wholebake in September in a newly created role designed to strengthen brand strategy, unlock new retail and distributor partnerships and support the business’s growing presence across Europe and other global markets. His appointment comes as demand continues to grow for Wholebake’s flagship brands, Brynmor flapjacks and Bounce protein balls.
Marcus brings more than 25 years’ experience in the food and drink industry, with a strong track record in commercial and sales leadership across soft drinks and FMCG. He previously served as Sales Director at Clearly Drinks and has also provided contracting and consultancy support to food and drink businesses during the COVID period. Throughout his career, Marcus has led high-performing teams, scaled challenger brands and driven growth across multiple channels.
The appointment supports Wholebake’s plans to accelerate growth across its key brands. Brynmor flapjacks are targeting a tripling of volumes over the next 18 months, building on strong performance in the Nordic region and expanding into new European and international markets under Marcus’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Bounce, the original protein ball brand, is focused on rapid growth acceleration. This will be supported by increased investment in social media and brand activation, alongside expanded retail distribution, including partnerships with Holland & Barrett and Sainsbury’s.
Commenting on his appointment, Marcus Hudson said: “I am pleased to join Wholebake at such an important stage in its journey. The snacking category continues to evolve rapidly and there is significant potential for Brynmor and Bounce to grow into category-leading brands. My focus will be on strengthening our retail and distributor partnerships, expanding our international footprint and building scalable routes to market that deliver sustainable, long-term growth.”
This appointment reinforces Wholebake’s commitment to strategic growth, innovation and the continued development of its international branded portfolio. For more information about Wholebake, please visit: https://www.wholebake.com
