Local acrylic manufacturer, Floreeda, has built a bespoke display case for Stockport’s new ‘hub for creativity, connection and community’.

Stockroom is designed for getting together, getting involved or just popping in for a brew and has been developed with and for local people. Part of this has included working with Floreeda to develop a display case to house museum items for Stockport Council. At Stockroom, visitors will find a town centre library, a children’s creative learning space, a café bar and Stockport’s historical archives. floreeda display

Located on the ground floor, the new display case from Floreeda was produced using an existing shelving unit supplied by the Council. Able to manufacture ‘almost anything out of acrylic’, Floreeda’s 35 years of expertise allows it to develop creative and bespoke pieces for clients across sectors.

Alongside Stockroom, Floreeda also works with various local organisations and institutions to deliver high-quality acrylic solutions. The company’s client roster includes Manchester Art Gallery, the Museum of Science and Industry, Dunham Massey National, the Hat Works Museum, and Staircase House.

Paul Jones, Managing Director at Floreeda, commented: “As Stockport locals, we were excited to be given the opportunity to produce something for Stockroom. Working with the Council’s existing shelving unit, we were able to produce the new display within just a few days. We like to use recycled materials where possible, so this is not just an aesthetically pleasing product, it’s also more sustainable than producing something from scratch.”

Gwen Riley Jones, Creative Programme Manager, Stockroom commented: “When developing Stockroom we were keen to work with local suppliers where possible. We want the space to showcase all things Stockport and to be a welcoming, inclusive space. With the help of Floreeda, we have been able to highlight some of the town’s rich history in a creative and engaging way.”
