ASG Group, a Manchester based manufacturer supplying detail parts and tooling to the world’s most prestigious OEMs, their Risk Sharing Partners (RSPs) and their associated supply chains, announced today that it has taken on a new cohort of manufacturing apprenticeships in partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Ansty Park.

This latest round of apprenticeships will see ASG Group providing training and development opportunities for young people looking to pursue a career in engineering and manufacturing. By partnering with the MTC, ASG Group is able to offer its apprentices access to state-of-the-art facilities and training from experienced industry professionals.

The decision to take on these apprenticeships is an important step for both ASG Group and the wider UK manufacturing industry. With the sector facing a shortage of skilled workers, investing in apprenticeships is crucial to ensuring a sustainable future for manufacturing in the UK. By taking on these apprenticeships, ASG Group is doing its part to address the skills gap and secure its future workforce, with over 150 CNC machine tools, coupled with the latest technologies and cutting techniques; these are skilled roles requiring committed applicants and dedicated mentors on site.

Commenting on the new apprenticeships, ASG Group Managing Director, Simon Weston, said: “We’re thrilled to be taking on this latest cohort of manufacturing apprenticeships. Investing in young people and developing the next generation of engineers is a key part of our business strategy. By partnering with the AMTC, we’re able to provide our apprentices with the very best training and development opportunities, which will help them to thrive in their careers and contribute to the future success of our business.”

Arrowsmith Engineering, part of the ASG Group based in Coventry is one of the beneficiaries of the latest cohort, Managing Director Jason Aldridge comments; “The partnership with the MTC is a testament to ASG Group’s commitment to innovation and excellence in manufacturing. By working with one of the UK’s leading advanced manufacturing centres, ASG Group is able to stay ahead of the curve and ensure that its apprentices receive the most up-to-date training and skills, celebrating a partnership which has developed multiple cohorts of talented young engineers.”

The latest cohort of apprenticeships is just the latest example of ASG Group’s dedication to investing in its workforce and securing its future. By offering young people the chance to develop their skills and pursue a career in manufacturing, ASG Group is playing an important role in shaping the future of the industry.
